16mm loops
a 16mm episode of a sitcom called "Rhoda", (1974 episode called 'The Shower') was cut into random 6ft loops and defaced to exorcise old school thinking of women, marriage and life in general. these loops were displayed in the kitchen window or into the stove as part of a performative event.
this project was performed as part of the Iris Film Collective series called Loopdaloop created specifically for The Capture Photography Festival in vancouver.

16mm loops, kitchen and household items, wood and fabric
by rose casella, cheryl hamilton & lisa g
CHICK FLICK is a site-specific installation as part of the Iris Film Collective IN HOUSE series. using found 16mm footage that has women as subject (unsurprisingly limited on ebay) this collaborative team transformed the Falaise Park Fieldhouse into a 3-zone mash-up exploring a woman's 'place'.
chick flick is a slang term, often used dismissively, for the film genre dealing mainly with love and romance which is targeted to a female audience.
it can also be defined as a genre in which a woman is the protagonist.
the artists, lisa g & c hamilton explain their goals and interests for their 2020 collaboration.
